Tsunami of Sound will be performing in concert Saturday, Oct. 8 on the main stage outdoors. With their surf-influenced instrumentals (and some added vocals that fit right in!), this band will make your head spin and your feet stomp. A wide range of 60s bands influenced their adrenaline-pumping dynamic sound, including The Ventures, Los Straitjackets, Link Wray, the Fathoms, Laika, and the Cosmonauts. Surf music back in the 1960s could be described as very instrumental, a combination of rockabilly, the electric guitar, and 1950s blues. This sound did not take long to be connected with trips to the beach, fun, surfing, girls, and cars.
Guitarist David Esposito has been playing guitar since he was 13 and was heavily influenced by the 1960’s British Invasion. Recording and composing surf-beat sounds have always been his dream to start an instrumental project. As a founding member of Tsunami Of Sound, David brings his love of guitars and all things instrumental to the band. After playing classic rock and covers for many years, the all-instrumental band is in a brand-new direction and he’s proud to be touring with the guys in Tsunami.
Rick Sanger, Drums – Rick has surf music in his DNA. After all, he claims he’s drummed Wipe Out over 3000 times with various bands through the years. “At least it seems that way!” It’s evident playing drums with Tsunami of Sound was his calling. As a founding member along with David and Jamie playing to appreciative audiences has been a dream. Their music has reached new heights. There’s no stopping these squids!!
Rick’s been playing drums since a teen, inspired by Ringo, Keith Moon, and Buddy Rich. His animated and sometimes dramatic style is attributed to the music he’s drumming behind. Rick is having an out-of-body (or is it auto-body) experience playing the wild surf beats. He’s levitating!!
Since the inception of TOS in 2008, Rick enjoys the comradery of fellow surf bands, surf fans, and everyone who digs what Tsunami of Sound is doing.
SQUID CAESAR, Bass – Squid Caesar plays bass. In his other life, where they called him Jamie Huggins, he was a professional ballet, jazz, and modern dancer for 30 years with his beautiful wife and dance partner Nicole. As a business conference, one of our goals is to have businesses, entrepreneurs, and brands be able to meet the distributors, retailers, and consumers in an entertaining, safe environment. Retail distributors can promote their products and retail locations in order to compete to attract new customers. Artists can find new fans and show their newest works. Craft growers can network to find supplies they may need to be an at-home botanist, or find outlets or job opportunities.
As a LifeStyle conference, we will be showcasing all aspects of the canna-inspired culture including health, wellness, music, art, clothing, literature, food, cultivation, supplies, medical, educational, and ancillary aspects including cannabis weddings and travel.
There will be two levels of participation involving access to indoor and outdoor activities. All attendees will be able to access all of the Exhibitors indoors and out.
