Justine’s Black Threads live in concert Sunday, Oct. 9th – Main Stage Outdoors. If you’re a big fan of Justine Covault’s fantastic pop/rock/punk band Justine and the Unclean, then you might think that she’d make an excellent country singer. She certainly does have the perfect voice for country songs. And of course, the lyrics about heartache and love gone wrong translate perfectly to that particular genre.

Justine’s Black Threads confirms everything we suspected. The trio consists of Covault on vocals and guitar, Jimmy Scoppa on guitar, and Johnny Sciascia on double bass. Rum Bar Records “Cheap Vacation” is the band’s debut EP. The sound is 50’s/60 old school country with few modern influences.

The production is raw and ‘live’, focusing on Covault’s voice and lyrics as well as the truly outstanding musicianship of her two bandmates. Some people think of 20 years ago when they hear the phrase “alt-country”. Black Threads resembles Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash during the Sun Records days, but even without the punchy guitars and pounding drums (or no drums at all!), this is classic Justine Covault music.

There will be two levels of participation involving access to indoor and outdoor activities. All attendees will be able to access all of the Exhibitors indoors and out.

About the Venue

Boxboro Regency Hotel (978) 263-8701 Located in a rural area near several corporate offices, this conference hotel is 1 mi (1.6 km) from I- 95 and within 1 mi (2 km) of Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge. A 20-minute drive from downtown Boston. The warm, traditionally furnished rooms feature free Wi-Fi access, a flat-screen TV, a coffee maker, and a seating area. Higher classrooms have mini-fridges and/or a balcony or terrace overlooking the pool. Suites also include sofa beds and microwaves, while higher-end suites have separate living rooms.
